The LS600h is Lexus’s latest and definitely greatest hybrid; it marries a 5.0-litre 388bhp V8 gas motor with a 221bhp electric engine with what must be probably the most seamlessly integrated hybrid drivetrain ever created.
all together, the 600h packs 439bhp, and still it pumps out just 219g/km of CO2; one gram less than the far much less powerful Mercedes S320 CDi. it will also do 0-62mph in six.3sec and strike 155mph whilst generating an average 30.4mpg.
What’s the car really like?
At 60miles-per-hour, the loudest noise within the LS600h isn’t the ticking in the time. Neither is it the motor, street roar,or even a blowing wind sound.
The loudest sound comes in the electric fan of the AC device, cooling the very comfortable soft natural leather seats upon which you’re perched. And even that is barely what you’d call loud.
However we all already know that the LS is a very polished automobile; the V8-influenced 460 providing a type of hushed gentleman’s pub luxury. Exactly why bother having a hybrid version – following all, if you had been truly interested in saving the world, would you truly be shifting about inside a massive luxurious and sporty car?
